Nunavut Premier John Main today released the following statement:
“In honour of the soldiers who lost their lives at CFB Wainwright this past weekend, I have requested that all flags at Government of Nunavut buildings fly at half-mast until they are laid to rest.
“The loss of members of the Canadian Forces is a loss for us all. To the families of those who gave their lives, Nunavummiut grieve with you. To those who were injured, we wish you and your families the strength to support your speedy recovery.
“Nunavut has supports to help anyone affected by the tragedy over the weekend. Reach out to your family, friends or Elders out if you need support, or you can visit this list of community contacts for help in times of crisis.”
