The Government of Nunavut (GN) and the Nunavut Employees Union (NEU) have signed the new collective agreement.
The new agreement, effective from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2028, followed a negotiation process that started in Fall 2024.
“Our priority is to continue delivering essential services to Nunavummiut while supporting a strong and dedicated workforce,” said Minister of Human Resources Annie Tattuinee. “This agreement reflects a balanced approach and strengthens mutual understanding, allowing us to advance our Government of Nunavut mandate with confidence.”
“We believe that the new collective agreement offers meaningful improvements and benefits for Government of Nunavut workers,” said Jason Rochon, President of the Nunavut Employees Union. “I want to thank our bargaining team and all NEU members for their support and engagement throughout the process.”
The signing of the new collective agreement is a step in furthering collaboration between the Government of Nunavut and the Nunavut Employees Union reinforcing the commitment of all parties to provide quality services to Nunavummiut.
